Airdry Clay Dreidel

“I had a little dreidel, I made it out of clay.” Now you can! No kiln necessary. Practice letters, come up with your own style, see if you can make one that spins a long time. It is said that dreidel was played as far back as the time of the Maccabees. It is said that children would sit around telling Jewish stories, which was illegal, and when the soldiers would come, they would quickly pull out a dreidel and pretend they were just playing a silly little game. Today, we play dreidel not only for fun and chocolate, but also it reminds us of a time when even telling the stories of our people was a criminal act.
