This Grillo is a natural wine coming to us from Sicily. Grillo was created as a crossing between Cataratto Bianco and Zibbibo grapes. While not aromatic or flavored, the grape provides good acidity and a broad spectrum of fruit flavors. This bottle was aged for seven months in a stainless steel tin.
Pouilly-Fuissé is a dry white wine made from Chardonnay grapes. This wine comes from Burgandy and is partially barrel aged for six months in Oak. Best served cool, it is here to pair with our white bean soup as its depth and aromatic nature should serve to compliment the rosemary flavors.
This single block pinot comes to us from the Russian River Valley in Sonoma county. The cool climate of the valley provides the ideal growing conditions for pinot noir grapes. Offering up a vibrant and complex bouquet of boysenberry, plum, pomegranate, coriander and a hint of cedar spice, this wine is full-bodied and incisive, with a perfect balance of concentrated fruit, tangy acidity, and a long, mouth-coating finish, with firm, age worthy tannins
Carménère is a deep red grape that comes to us from Bordeaux and is one of the six original grapes to come from the region. However on its own and grown in the Lodi Appellation, this wine shows great depth with strong peppery notes, round Merlot-like fruit quality and a balanced, overall structure. It is only the third vintage of Carménère produced by Michael David.
This Tucan Red is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that has been aged in barriques (A 59 gallon wooden barrel from Bordeaux) for 18-24 months and refined in bottle for 12 more months. The wine shows a beautiful intense ruby red color, a complex and refined aroma of ripe red fruits, a soft and enveloping taste with velvety tannins.
For Dessert, rather than going pure wine we are finishing off with the option to join in and enjoy some classic lemon liqueur. This limoncello comes from the Campania region of Italy. With a higher alcohol and sweeter flavoring, limoncello is a classic post meal beverage to cap off the night. In our case, it's to say thank you for coming.
Thank you all so much for coming.
